Chanterelle heaven

Yesterday in the forest was absolutely dreamy. Beautiful weather and lots of chanterelles. Perhaps we had extra luck after finding this forest pack the day before at a flea market?

Black trumpets peeking out of the moss. Some were unfortunately half dried, most likely due to the weird weather lately with rainy days followed by intense heat and sun. Nevertheless we picked all we could, these extremely fragrant shrooms are a favorite of Rolf.

Came across a decent patch of winter chanterelles also, early for the season. Had them for dinner last night, along with the goldens in a creamy pasta with homemade pancetta. Mm.

The black trumpets drying (almost dry) out on the balcony earlier today

Porcini cat seems to be enjoying the warmth as well..
